Bio

Alina Setjowikarto (*1999, NL) is a visual artist
based in Amsterdam. She strives to bridge temporal and spatial divides, by exploring individual parts that are shaped by their contextual conditions. For Alina, glass embodies an emotional and sensitive materiality, and a restraint that resonates with her so deeply. Which is why she feels drawn to the material and its limits to then be pushed further. Her work reflects intimate sentiments as a response to nuanced details (cultural identity) and lack thereof. Revealing matter that create new relationships to both the past and the present, feelings of hope and value.
